Responsible Gaming Standards for Ontario Visitors

As an independent guesthouse host, my focus is on helping you plan a peaceful stay on the Windsor riverfront. Because the property houses a large casino floor, every visitor should understand Ontario's age requirements, security entry policies, and the confidential support systems established by the province.

Age Limits and Entry Policies in Ontario

In Ontario, the minimum legal age to enter a casino gaming floor or participate in games of chance is 19. The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) sets strict regulatory standards across all provincial properties, including Caesars Windsor, which is owned by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) and run by Caesars Entertainment Windsor Limited.

Security officers enforce a challenge-based identification policy at every entrance to the gaming floor. Security staff may request government-issued photo identification from anyone who appears under 30 years of age. Visitors who appear 21 or younger are expected to present two valid pieces of identification before crossing the gaming perimeter. Minors under 19 are strictly prohibited from entering the casino floor under any circumstances. If you are travelling with family, you will want to review the guest checklist to ensure everyone in your party brings the required border documents and identification.

The Role of This Independent Desk

When guests write to me about reserving a room at the resort, my job is to arrange accommodation, clarify tower differences, and answer questions about check-in timing or parking options. This website is strictly an informational guesthouse desk for hotel visitors. It is not owned by OLG or Caesars, nor does it operate, facilitate, or promote gambling in any form.

If you are looking for details on room categories, dining schedules, or show nights at The Colosseum, you will find those across our venue pages. However, anyone visiting a casino property should remain mindful of personal limits, track time spent on the floor, and recognise early signs of financial or emotional distress.

Voluntary Exclusion Through OLG My PlayBreak

For individuals who wish to take a pause from gambling, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation provides a formal self-exclusion programme known as My PlayBreak. This provincial system allows an individual to voluntarily ban themselves from entering all commercial casinos in Ontario, including Caesars Windsor, as well as Charitable Gaming Centres and OLG online platforms.

My PlayBreak commitments are flexible, offering self-exclusion terms of 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years, or 5 years. Enrolment can be completed in person on-site at the resort or through online video registration. To schedule a remote video enrolment meeting, individuals can email Self-Exclusion@olg.ca or telephone the OLG Support Centre directly at 1-800-387-0098. Entering a property during an active exclusion period is considered a breach under the Trespass to Property Act.
